On October 14th, 2017 the citizens of Charlotte came together at NoDa Brewing Company to celebrate diversity and inclusion in our city. The Inaugural Charlotte UNITE Festival was a first of its kind. People from all over the city gathered as one regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. The festival featured music from local performers of all backgrounds, vendors, food from different cultures, a newly released NoDa beer named after Queen City Unity, and guest speakers. On the list of speakers was Mayor Jennifer Roberts, Vi Lyles, Dimple Ajmera, and the Keynote Speaker- Toussaint Romain.

Our organization was blown away by the support of the community around this special event. We would like to thank all of the performers and speakers who volunteered their time to drive our message of unity home. We are also grateful for NoDa Brewing Company's sponsorship, our volunteer Unity Ambassadors who worked extremely hard, and everyone else who was involved. It was amazing to see people from all over the Queen City unite around their commonalities, experience each other's cultures, and celebrate each other's differences. This was the first of what has become an annual event in Charlotte and one that we will continue to host at no cost for our community.
